NOTES:
The interiors were designed by the architect R. W. Edis who lived at this address from 1871 to 1900 and it became a meeting place of the fashionable including the artist, James McNeil Whistler and the actor, Henry Irving. The wallpaper is William Morris's pomegranate pattern and the frieze was painted by H. S. Marks, R.A. on canvas pasted to the plaster.
