Notes NOTES: Walter S. George exhibited a painting entitled 'Afterglow' at the Royal Academy in 1908, which was probably the original work from which this mezzotint was taken. His wife Lena is known to have exhibited a piece titled 'Afterglow: the Acropolis, Athens' at the RA in 1915.
