Notes NOTES: This drawing is numbered XIV/3r in the Burlington-Devonshire Collection. It shows sketches for the reconstruction of plans of a fishpond in Bacoli and an amphitheatre in Pozzuoli, near Naples. The Amphitheatre was begun under the Emperor Vespasian (9-79 AD) and completed during the reign of his son Titus (39-81 AD).
