NOTES:
Sir Roger Newdigate, the owner of Arbury Hall and architectural enthusiast, was assisted by Henry Keene from 1761 in the remodelling of the house in Gothic style. After Keene's death in 1776, Henry Couchman took over as Newdigate's architectural collaborator.
