NOTES: The stables at Baroda house, a 19th century building, were converted into a library in 1934 and a picture gallery added in 1935 by Herbert Cescinsky. Baroda House was the London home of Alfred Chester Beatty whose collection of mainly Oriental manuscripts, printed works and artefacts was kept there until its removal to Dublin in 1950.
