Notes NOTES: The Cosmati were a Roman family which included seven generations of architects, sculptors and workers in mosaic. Cosmatesque mosaic technique involved the elaborate inlaying of small triangles and rectangles of colored stones and glass mosaics into stone matrices or surfaces.
