Notes NOTES: Palladio was commissioned in 1549 to design a new outer shell for the existing 15th century Palazzo della Ragione. The facade in Piazza delle Erbe was only completed in 1614. The Torre di Piazza was begun in the 12th century and completed in the 14th. This photograph is one of a number taken by Ivy de Wolfe (pseudonym of Hazel de Cronin Hastings) for the book 'The Italian Townscape' by Ivor de Wolfe (London, Architectural Press, 1963).
