Notes NOTES: First built in the 13th century and altered thereafter, including the addition of the white marble triumphal arch, built in 1470, as the entrance between the two west towers (not seen in this sketch). This drawing is in a small Italian sketchbook, dated 'Napoli, April 17, 1815', from Cockerell's Grand Tour of the eastern Mediterranean and Italy between 1810 and 1817.
