Cathedral of Santa Maria Matricolare, (Duomo), Verona: the nave and the choir screen by Sanmicheli

RIBA27294
Sanmicheli, Michele (1484-1559)
NOTES: This cathedral was built in Romanesque style on the site of two earlier churches which collapsed in the earthquake of 1117. It was consecrated in 1187. Alterations were made to the interior in Gothic style from the 15th century. The frescoes date from the 16th century, the choir screen from 1534.

Elevation and plan of a monument to Cardinal Pietro Bembo, Church (or Basilica) of Sant'Antonio (Il Santo), Padua, with an elevation and plan of the triumphal arch in Campo Marzio, Vicenza

NOTES: This drawing was made either by Visentini or one of his assistants. The Bembo memorial in Padua was designed by Sanmicheli probably executed by an assistant in around 1550. The triumphal arch formerly in Campo Marzio, Vicenza (now Piazzale Roma) was probably built by Ottavio Bruto Revese in 1608.
