NOTES: This drawing was made either by Visentini or one of his assistants. Palladio was commissioned in the 1550s by the Patriarch of Venice to rebuild the church, which until 1807 was the cathedral of Venice. He prepared designs but the patriarch died and construction was postponed. It was not until after Palladio's death that a former associate, Francesco Smeraldi, adapted Palladio's design for the church and construction commenced. The Vendramin Chapel was designed by Longhena in the 1660s.
