NOTES: The church of St Mary dates back to the Anglo Saxon period, notably its round tower. The north doorway is c. 1190 and parts of the nave arches are 14th century. The church was restored in 1875-1876 by Frederick Preedy, who incorporated fragments of medieval stained glass. The stained glass window shown here depicts the figure of St Mary Magdalen with a censing angel above her.
