Church of St Nicholas (Nicolaikirche), Hopfenmarkt, Hamburg

NOTES: The clearly visible spire of this church served as an orientation marker for the Allied Air Forces during World War II and the church was heavily damaged by the aerial bombing of 28 July 1943. After the war the nave was demolished while the spire was retained as a memorial against the war.
