SOURCE: Londina illustrata, vol. 1 (London, 1819), page facing pl. 94 NOTES: Clarendon House, or Albemarle House, was erected by Edward Hyde, Earl of Clarendon, during the reign of Charles II. It was sold by its next owner, the Duke of Albemarle, in 1683 and was demolished for development. Albemarle Street runs through the centre of the site of the house.
