Notes NOTES: This new children's observation and assessment centre was built in the grounds of an early Victorian house of c. 1840. Previously the children had been accommodated within the house, but a major decision for the new centre was to have a series of self-contained units, designed as compact three-storey blocks linked closely to one another across the site. The blocks would house both staff and children.
