NOTES: This complex of buildings date back to the second half of the 12th century with the construction of the Knights Templar Church (Charola). A nave and cloister was added in the early 15th century and more extensive additions were added from 1510 onwards by the Arruda brothers, Diego and Francisco and Joao de Castilho. The King John III Cloister was built between 1557-1591.
