NOTES: Sir Edwin Lutyens designed the house for Edward Hudson, owner of Country Life, in 1899-1901. The garden was an example of his collaboration with Gertrude Jekyll. Chapman Taylor Partners undertook a restoration of the house and garden in 1980.
