NOTES: This drawing comes from an exercise book Voysey entitled 'Symbolism in design', a volume containing mounted examples of his graphic designs. This bookplate was designed for Voysey's beloved niece, the daughter of his youngest brother Ellison. The date is unknown but it is likely that it predates Ella's 1929 marriage to the actor Robert Donat.
