NOTES: The monogram incorporated into the carved decoration on this overmantel is that of George Booth, 2nd Earl of Warrington, who succeeded in 1693/4 and died in 1758. This design may have been intended for the Booth family home of Dunham Massey Hall, which was modernised from 1660 onwards.
