NOTES: Devonshire House had been the London residence of the Dukes of Devonshire for around 200 years but was demolished in 1924. The Mayfair Hotel and a block of flats were built in its place, and this drawing by Lutyens may have been intended for the hotel, although it was not executed to his designs.
