NOTES: Francis Goodwin was one of several architects consulted about the design for new accommodation for the House of Commons in 1833, a year before the fire which destroyed the existing Houses of Parliament. This plate is found in Report from the Select Committee on the House of Commons' buildings; with the minutes of evidence taken before them (London, 1833), as well as published by the architect in Plans for the new House of Commons proposed by Francis Goodwin, architect (London, 1833).
