NOTES: The Adam brothers remodelled the existing house for the 3rd Duke of Roxburghe in 1776. The house was demolished in 1908. This drawing, redrawn from the original in the Sir John Soane's Museum, is by A. T. Bolton who was an architect, architectural historian and curator of the Soane Museum from 1917-1945.
