NOTES: The Duomo was built 1215-1263 on the site of a much earlier structure. The facade of polychrome marble was built in two stages; the lower part by Giovanni Pisano in 1285 and the upper part, similiar in style to Orvieto Cathedral, by Giovanni di Cecco after 1376.
