NOTES: The Duomo was built 1215-1263 on the site of a much earlier structure, although the facade which was built in two stages wasn't completed until after 1376. The octagonal shaped pulpit was sculpted by Nicola Pisano, assisted by his son Giovanni and Arnolfo di Cambio between 1265-1268.
