NOTES: Endsleigh Cottage, a picturesque cottage orne, was built as a country retreat for the family by the 6th Duke of Bedford. The landscape design was by Humphry Repton. Originally produced for the part-work series 'Devonshire & Cornwall illustrated' (London, 1829-1832), this print appeared in 1830, but this state (with its different publisher) probably dates from the 1840s.
