Notes NOTES: The Chateau de Chantilly was destroyed during the French Revolution. It was later rebuilt by Henri d'Orleans, Duc d'Aumale (1822-1897), who inherited the domain from his uncle in 1830, in order to house his magnificent collection of paintings, drawings, objets d'art, and books.
