NOTES: Built initially for 240 children between the ages of five and seven, this open-plan school was designed by Manning Clamp & Partners in association with H. S. Gardiner, borough architect, Richmond on Thames. It was one of the first schools to incorporate and develop many of the principles recommended in the Plowden report on education (1967) notably the classes being grouped in triple clusters to allow for open plan teaching.
