NOTES: The former six-storey headquarters building was commissioned by the founder, William Randolph Hearst. Designed by Joseph Urban and completed in 1928, it was built as a base for a proposed skyscraper the construction of which was postponed due to the Great Depression. The high-tech skyscraper incorporating environmental considerations was added in 2003-2006 by Foster & Partners.
