NOTES: The architect Leslie Julius was the son-in-law and Rosamind, a designer and writer, the daughter of Ray Hille of the eponymous furniture company established in 1906 by her father, Salomon Hille, in the East End of London. When he retired in 1932, Ray Hille took over the company, Hille International, which continued to be a family-run business until it was sold in 1983. Leslie Julius became joint-chairman of the company in 1949 while Rosamind was the sales director.
