Notes NOTES: The drawing at right, with its inscription 'porte du chatelet de chalon sur sone', would probably have been made by Gentilhatre when he was working in the area between 1614 and 1617. The Chatelet of Chalon-sur-Saone seems to refer to a 'little chateau' which stood at the end of a bridge were the road entered the town; there is still a rue du Chatelet in the town.
