NOTES: This college was awarded university status in 1966 when it became Loughborough University of Technology. Commissioned in 1956 and built on land acquired from the Burleigh estate, these buildings formed the nucleus of the current university. It amalgamated with Loughborough College of Education (formerly the Training College) in 1977 and with Loughborough College of Art and Design (LCAD) in 1988. It was renamed simply Loughborough University in 1996.
