NOTES: The original Loughborough College of Technology, commissioned in 1956 and designed by Richard Sheppard Robson & Partners, was awarded university status in 1966. This building formed part of the masterplan, drawn up by Arup Associates, to expand the original college of 1,500 students to a university with capacity for 5,000 students by the mid-1970s. The university later amalgamated with Loughborough College of Education (formerly the Training College) in 1977 and with Loughborough College of Art and Design (LCAD) in 1988. It was renamed simply Loughborough University in 1996.
