NOTES: John Rennie Senior engineered both the acqueduct and the canal it carries on five semi-circular arches. Alexander Stevens Senior was responsible for the design of the aqueduct which was completed by his son, Alexander Stevens (fl. 1796-1812) after his death in 1796.
