NOTES:
The house was built c. 1803-1805 by Parkinson for James Burton, the architect, builder and developer of St Leonards-on-Sea. Burton's son, Decimus, enlarged the house for the new owner, John Deacon, after his father sold the house in 1828. This lithograph appeared in C. Greenwood, Epitome of the history of Kent (1838).
