NOTES: Built as the Theatre Royal in 1863 and converted into the Royal cinema in 1933, this cinema was taken into the Odeon circuit in 1935. Renamed Odeon in 1937, it closed for twinning in 1973, reopening in 1974. Taken over by Merlin Cinemas in 2000, the downstairs cinema was tripled in 2001.
