The woodcut illustrations have been attributed to Andrea Palladio, Giuseppe Salviati and Giovanni Rusconi. This plate relates to drawings by Palladio numbered XI/7V and X1/7R in the Burlington-Devonshire Collection. Vitruvius's original treatise was written during the first century BC.
