NOTES: Built adjacent to the San Michele prison at Porta Portese (designed by Carlo Fontana in 1703 as young offenders' institution) by the architect Ferdinando Fuga in 1735. Used for political prisoners in the 19th century by the 1950s it had reverted back to its original function and was being used as an approved school.
