NOTES: This palace, commissioned by Philip V and decorated to the tastes of Charles III, was built between 1738 and 1755 and replaced the medieval Antiguo Alcazar that had been destroyed by fire in 1734. It was designed by Filippo Juvarra and Giovanni Batista Tiepolo in cooperation with Ventura Rodriguez and Francisco Sabatini. The Gasparini room, named after the designer repsonsible for the interior decoration, served both as a reception room and as a dressing room to Charles III, who took up residence in 1764.
