NOTES: The buildings of the monastery date from the 10th-13th centuries. The complex consists of three churches; St Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God), built 928-944, St Amenaprkich (Redeemer), built 957-966 and St Grigor (1061). Also included within the complex are a scriptorium, gavit (vestry or narthex), academy, and belfry (1211-1235). It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with neighbouring Haghpat Monastery.
