NOTES: Built on the site of the Theatre Royal (1864-1921) and the Scala Cinema (1921-1937), this cinema was designed for Associated British Cinemas (ABC). It was renamed ABC in the early 1960s and closed in 1981. It was converted into a snooker hall and latterly has been used as a gym.
