NOTES: This lion, made of Coade Stone and designed by W. F. Woodington, once surmounted the parapet of the Red Lion Brewery on the South Bank and was originally red in colour. The brewery was demolished in 1948 to make way for the Royal Festival Hall and the lion was moved in 1949 to Waterloo Station Gate at the Festival of Britain site. When Waterloo station was expanded in 1966, the lion was relocated to Westminster Bridge near County Hall on the South Bank and has since been known as the 'South Bank Lion'.
