NOTES: The church was founded in 1123 by the Augustian Canon, Rahere. All but the crossing and choir was demolished following the Dissolution in the 16th century and the church gradually fell into disrepair. The principal programmes of restoration in the 19th century were in 1860-1866 when the east end was restored to the Norman plan (Hayter Lewis and William Slater) and later in 1886-1898 (Aston Webb). This image is showing the proposed restoration by Lewis and Slater.
