NOTES: The construction of St Etienne-du-Mont stretched from 1494 to 1624. The contract for the construction of the side screens and doorways to the jube (or rood screen) was dated 1601 and the executed doorways bear the date 1605. The original design has been attributed to Philibert de l'Orme and Gentilhatre's three drawings relating to the jube (RIBA125668-RIBA125670) are in a more classical style than that in which these screen doorways were actually built. The grille design constructed was the strapwork design rather than the baluster.
