NOTES: This church dates mainly from the 14th century. The original west tower, together with two west bays of the nave, were destroyed by a great wind in 1361 and were rebuilt by c.1380. The present tower, with its wooden and lead spike added between 1415 and 1562, is the tallest in Hertfordshire. The lych-gate is 18th century
