NOTES: Erected in 1743-1746 to designs by George Dance the Elder, this church was remodelled in 1859-1861 by T. E. Knightley after a fire. The interior was gutted by fire in the Blitz of 1940 during World War II. The west end was repaired in 1955 while the rest of the church was reconstructed in 1958-1961 by J. Anthony Lewis.
