NOTES: The church of St Augustine, Watling Street, was rebuilt in the 1680s to a design by Sir Christopher Wren. It was entirely destroyed during the Blitz of 1941 and was not rebuilt. The tower was reconstructed along its original lines as part of the construction works for the new choir school, completed in 1967.
