Notes NOTES: The new church and tower was completed by Wren in 1687 and corresponded to the chancel of the Greyfriars' church destroyed in the Great Fire of London. The steeple was added in 1701. The church was destroyed in the Blitz and not rebuilt. The steeple was conserved in 1960.
