NOTES: The exhibition, 'Thirties: British art and design before the war', was held at the Hayward Gallery from 25 October 1979 - 13 January 1980. The exhibition was designed by Neave Brown, assisted by Julian Feary. This was a reconstruction of a typical one room flat from the Isokon flats, Lawn Road, London, designed by Wells Coates, 1934. In the centre of the room is the 'Penguin Donkey', designed by Egon Riss and Jack Pritchard for Isokon in 1939.
