Tron Church, Royal MIle, Edinburgh

NOTES: The church was built 1637-1647 by John Mylne. It underwent a major reconstruction in 1787 by John Baxter Junior when the south aisle and buttresses were removed for road widening. The spire seen here was added in 1828 by brothers and architects, Richard and Robert Dickson ( known as R & R Dickson). The church was closed in 1952 and the interiors subsequently gutted.
