NOTES: The Nelson Monument was designed by Robert Burn in 1807. C. R. Cockerell and William H. Playfair were responsible for the design of the National Monument which was started in 1826 and left incomplete in 1829. In 1825-1826 Playfair also designed the Monument in memory of his uncle, John Playfair.
