NOTES: The villa was built from 1715 by the architect Tommaso Napoli. But it was in 1749 that Francesco Ferdinando Gravina Allata, the 7th Prince of Palagonia created a series of grotesque sculptures which adorn the gateways and outer walls of the villa.
